My name is Tonette Ngassa. I have over 24 years of experience in the field of victim services for military and civilian agencies. I have provided direct services to survivors of sexual and domestic violence at their most vulnerable moments. I've also developed and delivered training on self-care for advocates. I received a B.A. from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law. My greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother in 2009 to Christian Ngassa.
I decided to create Inky Womenfolk Retreats in late 2021 because I was tired and desperately needed a retreat. The pandemic has been hard on all of us. I figured why only help myself? I want to share the experience. Caring is sharing right? I focused my efforts on Black Women because I am a Black Woman and many of my friends needed a space to heal where we could be authentically ourselves without apology. I named it Inky Womenfolk because that means Black Women, so my mission would be clear. My desire is that these retreats will provide community and sisterhood for as many Black Women as possible. Let's live our best lives!!!
